My name is Dana Swift and I am a young adult fantasy author.

I started making up fantasy worlds when I was eleven years old and haven’t stopped since. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where I earned degrees in English and Advertising. While in college, I competed as a saber fencer and learned a thing or two about fighting, parrying and how it feels to fall in love with your sparring partner. If you don’t find me devouring a good novel, I’m most likely reading and critiquing at a local writing workshop.

I’ve been reading all my life. Even when I didn’t know how, I pretended I could. I guess I realized early on the power of words and magic of falling into the world of imagination.
